چکیده

The ability of commercial nanofillers Nanofil, Cloisite and by own way prepared MMT/ODA for PE and PP matrix was evaluated. Different types of mentioned type of nanofillers were added into polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) matrix in various concentrations. The amount of clays was calculated as 3 and 5 wt% to the weight of PE/PP. The PE/PP and nanofillers were mixed on a one screw KO Kneader Buss with maleic-anhydride-modified matrices PEMa/PPMa as a compatibilizer. The content of compatibilizer in mixtures was 5 wt % to the weight of matrix. The level of MMT exfoliation in the nanocomposite systems was studied by XRD technique and compared with results of structure molecular modelling both were also connected with the study of morphology by SEM and TEM technique. The properties of samples were evaluated by the measurement of mechanical properties (yield stress and tensile strength). The permeability for O2 and CO2 was checked. The influence of different types and concentrations of the added nanofillers on the properties of polyethylene/polypropylene nanocomposites is discussed. Key words: nanocomposite, modeling, polyethylene, polypropylene, montmorillonite, barrier properties

Rheological, thermal and tensile properties of PE/nanoclay nanocomposites and PE/nanoclay nanocomposite cast films

The effects of three different mixers, two different feeding orders and nanoclay content on the structure development and rheological properties of PE/nanoclay nanocomposite samples were investigated. Fractional Zener and Carreau–Yasuda models were applied to discuss the melt linear viscoelastic properties of the samples. Moreover, scaling law for fractal networks was used to quantify clay disp...

Preparation and Some Properties of Polyethylene/vermiculite Nanocomposites

The high aspect ratio of layered silicate nanoparticles is very convenient to modify the properties of the polymer, but the hydrophilic nature of silicate surfaces impedes their homogeneous dispersion in the organic polymer phase. The hydrophilic clay minerals are commonly treated with ammonium cations with long alkyl chains to improve the compatibility between the silicate layers and the polym...

Investigating the effects of chemical modification of clay nanoparticles on thermal degradation and mechanical properties of TPU/nanoclay composites

Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU)/clay nanocomposites were prepared via a melt-compounding method using ester type TPU and two different modified organoclays (Cloisite 30B and Cloisite 15A) in different contents. The Effects of the chemical structure and content of the nanoclays on the thermal degradation and mechanical properties of TPU were also investigated. The effect of structural modificat...
